Kerr Drug Subject of Discrimination Lawsuit

Franklin, N.C., Alawsuit filed this week alleges that Raleigh, N.C.-based Kerr Drug did not make allowances for the religious practices of two employees.

The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission filed an employment discrimination lawsuit against Kerr Drug, Inc., alleging that two pharmacy technicians at a Franklin, N.C., Kerr Drug store were fired for refusing to work on a Sunday in violation of their Baptist beliefs.

The terminations occurred in December 2003.
