Kellwood names Marc Babins western region president
Clothing company Kellwood has named Marc Babins the president of its western region. Babins — who has been in the apparel industry for most of his career — will head up Kellwood’s largest operations unit in City in Industry, California.
The western region is the company’s center for its brands like Rebecca Taylor, Jolt and XOXO — design, distribution and logistics all run out of the facility in City of Industry California. Babins will oversee these components, as well as customer service. He’ll also work with other regions to grow Kellwood’s brands.
“It is an honor to join Kellwood, and help lead its global supply chain operations, where I believe I can positively impact the company and its brands,” Babins said. “In this position, not only can I tap into many aspects of my industry expertise, but I can also strengthen Kellwood’s value proposition, and help achieve its strategic goals.”
Before joining Kellwood, Babins worked at Destination Maternity as SVP, product development and strategic sourcing. In the past he’s also worked for Aéropostale and Tommy Hilfiger. Before that, he founded and ran Southern Trading Company, working with brands like Land’s End, Converse and Adidas.
“We are delighted to have Marc join us at the helm of Kellwood Western Region,” Kellwood CEO Lynn Shanahan said. “He is an industry leader who has a proven track record of success in virtually all aspects of the apparel industry, including product development, sourcing, production, supply chain management and quality assurance.
