Keeping Xanadu Safe and Cool

12/1/2007

TAC, a division of Schneider Electronics, has been selected to provide security and building-management-systems integration for The Meadowlands Xanadu complex in East Rutherford, N.J. The 4.8 million-sq.-ft. center, scheduled to open in late 2008, will feature an array of retail, dining and entertainment attractions, including the Snow Dome, a 160,000-sq.-ft. space that will house America’s first indoor ski slope.

Xanadu will incorporate a complex integrated surveillance system that includes more than 300 fixed and pan-tilt-zoom outdoor and indoor cameras, and an access-control system to limit entry to non-public spaces. Along with providing the security solutions, TAC also will put a system in place to control other building systems, such as heating, ventilation and air conditioning. This includes the chillers required to maintain the unusually cold indoor environment necessary for the Snow Dome’s ski slope.

Schneider Electronics will supply all of the electrical equipment at Xanadu.
