Karkus to oversee Under Armour apparel

BALTIMORE Under Armour has announced that Suzanne Karkus has joined the company as senior vp of apparel. Karkus will oversee the growth and expansion of the entire Under Armour Apparel line. She joins Under Armour from IZOD Womenswear where, as president, she successfully launched the brand in 2003 and quickly established it as a premium lifestyle collection. She will report directly to Kevin Plank, chairman and ceo of Under Armour.

"Suzanne is a great addition for Under Armour and brings invaluable and unparalleled industry experience to our internal team of industry and brand experts," said Plank. "She's a creative talent with a great business sense and the leadership skills necessary to guide the continued success of Under Armour's established apparel business."

Prior to IZOD, Karkus served as president of the women's division of Calvin Klein Jeans. She has also held leadership roles with additional brands including Ralph Lauren Womenswear, Carole Little and Esprit.
