Just a few weeks to go

A new line from fashion icon Jean Paul Gaultier is set to hit Target stores in few weeks and kick off what promises to be a fashion blitz. Gaultier’s 50-item line is due to arrive in only 400 of Target’s 1,740 stores on March 7.

“My collection with Target pays homage to the wide range of personalities that make up the diverse styles of American women,” Gaultier said. “From ingenue to rock ‘n roll, this collection celebrates women of all ages and a host of distinctive, iconic American styles.” Target will have some celebrating of its own to do if the collection achieves strong sell-through, considering that items retail for as much as $200.

Also due in March is a new 300-item line of spring fashion essentials and home items from luxury brand Liberty of London. Target has also partnered with designer Zac Posen on an apparel line that will hit stores for five weeks beginning in April, just as the Gauliter run is set to end on April 11. A new footwear line designed by Cynthia Vincent will arrive in stores for a 10-week run in April, and Target also plans to offer a limited-edition hat assortment from designer Eugenia Kim for nine weeks beginning in April.
