JoS. A. Bank promotes Merry to evp

HAMPSTEAD, Md. JoS. A. Bank Clothiers announced today that Gary Merry, senior vp of operations, has been promoted to evp. Among his new duties, Merry will head the company's store and catalog operations. Merry's promotion will allow evp Robert Hensley to concentrate his efforts in leading the company's store expansion program. Hensley will also continue to head the company's human resources department.

Merry joined JoS. A. Bank Clothiers in 2000 and has held a wide variety of positions, including head of store development, distribution and call center. he will continue as chief information officer of the company.

Merry will now report to, and Hensley will continue to report to, Robert Wildrick, ceo and executive chairman. Wildrick stated: "As we continue toward our goal of operating more than 500 stores, we are fortunate to be able to expand and focus our management team with executives of the caliber of Gary and Bob. They have both been integral to the growth of the company and we expect that they will continue to play essential roles in the accomplishment of our company's long-term goals."
