According to the Produce for Better Health Foundation, consumers are only eating about 3.6 servings of fruits and vegetables a day, rather than the five to nine recommended.

Because it is difficult to get adults to change their diets, vendors are focusing their efforts on, and promoting healthy eating habits for, kids.

In its Green Giant Vegetable Habits Survey of parents and children ages 6 to 10, almost one in three parents thinks his or her child is more likely to become president than to be coaxed into eating the recommended five to nine servings of fruits and vegetables a day.
