JCPenney returns to New Orleans west bank
PLANO, Texas JCPenney today announced its return to the west bank of New Orleans with the re-opening of its store in Gretna, after being closed for construction due to damage caused by Hurricane Katrina.
The new JCPenney store will open on Nov. 2 at Oakwood Center. The renovated store covers 135,000 square feet and has been reconfigured for improved traffic flow and greater ease of shopping.
“The re-opening of our store in Gretna marks our continued investment in the New Orleans area,” said Pat Meadowcroft, JCPenney district manager. “It has been a long road back, but we are thrilled to return to Oakwood Center and provide more jobs and a more convenient shopping destination for our customers in the West Bank area. We invite everyone to come see our new store and celebrate with us.”
