Insights exec makes Smart move

Candace Adams has joined SmartRevenue, a shopper marketing research and consulting firm, as president, global retail strategy. Adams spent the past three years at Walmart as senior director for customer in-store experience insights. She will report to SmartRevenue CEO John Dranow and be based in Richmond, Va.

For the past three years in her role at Walmart, Candace has conducted best-in-class research that has led to the transformation of the store, both externally and internally,” Dranow said. “She is largely responsible for the makeover of Walmart stores and the Walmart shopping experience, so SmartRevenue feels fortunate she is joining our team.”

At SmartRevenue, Adams will help retailers leverage their knowledge of consumers and stores to improve the customer experience, drive more shopping trips and grow market basket size.

Adams holds a doctorate in research and statistics from Virginia Tech, earned a master’s degree in behavioral psychology and program evaluation from Radford University, and has a BS in political science and sociology from University of Maryland. She worked at Research International for two years prior to joining Walmart and spent 10 years at Philip Morris prior to that.
