Ikea to Offer Free Ferry Service to Brooklyn Location
New York City Ikea said it plans to offer a complimentary ferry service to its upcoming store on the Brooklyn, N.Y., waterfront. It is the Swedish retailer’s first store in New York City, and is scheduled to open June 18.
The ferry will be operated by New York Water Taxi and will travel from Pier 11 in lower Manhattan to Ikea’s dock in Brooklyn’s Red Hook neighborhood.
The service will be available every 40 minutes, seven days a week, from 10:00 a.m. - 8:30 p.m. The company also plans to operate shuttles from subway lines and expand bus routes to the 346,000-sq.-ft. store.
