Iconix, Elizabeth Arden team up
NEW YORK Iconix and Elizabeth Arden hope to inhale the sweet smell of success.
The companies announced Monday that they have entered into an exclusive global licensing agreement with each other for the development, marketing and distribution of men's and women's fragrance, cosmetics, and skincare products for Iconix’s lifestyle apparel brand Rocawear.
The debut fragrance is planned to launch in the fall of 2008, the companies said.
Iconix, which owns, licenses and markets a growing portfolio of consumer brands, purchased the Rocawear brand in 2007. Founded by rapper and produced Shawn Carter (a.k.a. “Jay-Z”), the brand is know internationally, and reportedly has annual retail sales of $700 million.
Elizabeth Arden, a global prestige beauty products company, has collaborated in the past. E. Scott Beanie, the company’s chairman and ceo, said he is happy to expand his company’s relationship with Iconix.
