IBM Retail User Group names new president
STRONGSVILLE, Ohio — The IBM Retail User Group announced that it has named Ron Ferri of Giant Eagle as its new president at its recent board of directors and 35th Annual Conference planning meeting in Las Vegas, Oct. 13 to 15.
Ferri, business process consultant with Giant Eagle; is responsible for interaction with retail operations, loss prevention, real estate, store planning and construction and recommends projects and enhancements, and creates the IT budgets. During his 22 years with Giant Eagle; he has been responsible for point of sale support and development, Y2K activities, the conversion of supermarket to ACE, and installing an integrated fuel solution.
Ferri has participated in the IBM Retail Users Group for 12 years. He stated, “The IBM Retail User Group is my favorite professional event to attend on an annual basis. I am looking forward to carrying on the 35 year tradition of the group while adding more value for all of its members to ensure that IRUG remains the must attend retail event for years to come”.
