Hudson's Bay Names Zellers CEO

Toronto Hudson's Bay Co. has appointed Mark Foote to serve as CEO of its Zellers discount chain.

Foote most recently served as president and chief merchandising officer at Loblaw Cos. He will join Zellers in mid-August.

"Our focus will be on branded apparel, improved service along with the rollout of our new prototype stores," he said in a statement. Foote's appointment comes two weeks after Hudson's Bay was acquired by U.S.-based NRDC Equity Partners. NRDC, which owns Lord & Taylor, did not disclose the value of the deal.
