Hudson’s Bay Company taps new SVP, treasury and investor relations
Hudson’s Bay has appointed John Caplice to the position of SVP, treasury and investor relations, effective Sept. 2.
With more than 25 years of management experience, Caplice has extensive experience in financial management and strategic communications development. From 2000 to 2014, he served as SVP, treasurer and investor relations at Shoppers Drug Mart Corporation, Canada’s largest retail drug store chain, with annual sales in excess of $11 billion. While at Shoppers Drug Mart, Caplice was responsible for treasury and compliance activities, as well as developing and implementing communication strategies, including earnings releases, MD&As, and quarterly and annual reports to shareholders. Caplice is a chartered accountant and holds a BBA from St. Francis Xavier University in Antigonish, Nova Scotia, where he currently serves on the board of governors.

Caplice will be based in Toronto and will report to Paul Beesley, CFO, Hudson’s Bay Company.
The company also appointed Lucas Evans as SVP, corporate development, HBC, reporting to the office of the chairman.
