HP releases tablet POS for small retailers
Palo Alto, Calif. -- HP is releasing a Windows 8.1 tablet-based POS solution designed to make it easy for small business retailers to effectively manage their business and cut operating costs. The HP TX1 POS solution provides the ability to run essential POS applications and popular productivity applications.
The HP TX1 combined the 10.1-inch HP ProPad 600 with a stand and POS accessories in one solution. The HP TX1 can easily detach from the stand so employees can take it home at the end of the day when needed. The ProPad 600 features the latest lntel Atom Quad-Core Processor, long battery life, Windows 8.1 and up to 64GB of storage. It also includes a compact receipt printer, cash drawer, USB hub, and optional barcode scanner.
The solution will be generally available in May 2014 with pricing varied by configuration.
