Hot Topic loss widens in Q2

City of Industry, Calif. Fashion retailer Hot Topic said late Wednesday that its second-quarter loss nearly doubled from a year earlier, losing $6.3 million in the quarter ended July 31, compared with a loss of $3.2 million in the year-ago period.

Revenue dropped 5% to $150 million. Same-store sales fell 6.4%.
