Home Depot spent $245,000 lobbying in Q1

Washington, D.C. Home Depot spent $245,000 in the first quarter to lobby the federal government on organized retail crime and other issues, according to a disclosure report.

That's up 2% from the $240,000 that Home Depot spent in last year's first quarter, and up 9% from the $225,000 it spent in fourth quarter 2009.

Home Depot also lobbied the federal government on legislation involving metal theft, retail sales tax, tariffs on goods originating in China and efforts to stabilize the housing market and weatherization program, according to the report filed April 20.
