Home Depot launches trade-in promotions
In an effort to boost foot traffic and sales, The Home Depot has kicked off its holiday season with two trade-in events. It’s first-ever “Power Drill Trade In, Trade Up,” which runs Oct. 25 to Nov. 8, encourages customers to bring in their used or broken power drills and get 15 percent off a new lithium-ion drill. Home Depot will recycle the old drills.
On Nov. 5, the Atlanta-based retailer will begin its second annual Eco Options Christmas Light Trade In event. Customers can bring in their old working or non-working holiday light strings to be recycled and receive a $3 off coupon towards the purchase of energy-efficient seasonal light-emitting diodes string lights. Customers must purchase their new LED lights between Nov. 5 and Nov. 15 and are limited to five redemptions.
Both promotions will take place only at Home Depot’s U.S. stores.
