Home Depot Exec Pleads Guilty

Atlanta In a federal court on Monday, former Home Depot executive Anthony M. Tesvich, 42, pleaded guilty to fraud and tax evasion.

Tesvich, whose career at The Home Depot spanned 19 years before it was terminated in October 2007, admitted to stealing millions of dollars in vendor kickbacks and not reporting or paying taxes on the income.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution described Tesvich as the “mastermind” of a kickback scheme that included cash and gifts, which Tesvich shared with a number of former Home Depot associates. Reportedly, Tesvich rewarded his fellow workers for signing contracts with overseas flooring suppliers with whom Tesvich had relationships.

The federal suit charged that Tesvich had conducted the fraudulent business from at least October 2002 until October 2007.
