Home Depot CEO receives $9.9 million in 2009

New York City Home Depot CEO Frank Blake received compensation valued at $9.9 million in 2009, up 7% from a year ago, according to the Associated Press.

Blake earned a base salary of about $1 million and a performance-based bonus of $2.1 million in the fiscal year ending Jan. 31.

The bulk of his compensation came in the form of stock and option awards valued at about $6.5 million on the date they were granted.

Blake also received other compensation worth $266,194, including $125,010 in the company's perks program, which he has the option to apply to financial planning, medical services, car and related expenses, insurance and other options. That also includes $106,184 for use of the company airplane.

A year ago, Blake received compensation worth about $9.2 million.

The retailer's full-year profit climbed 18% to $2.66 billion, while annual revenue fell 7% to $66.18 billion from $71.29 billion.
