Hhgregg announced several key executive appointments. The news comes on the heels of the appointment of interim CEO Robert Riesbeck as permanent chief of the consumer electronics and appliance retailer.
The moves include the promotion of former VP of marketing and nine-year company veteran Chris Sutton to senior VP of marketing, with oversight for all marketing initiatives as well as Hhgregg’s growing e-commerce channel. Sutton previously worked in advertising and brand marketing for The Walt Disney Company.
In other appointments:
• Andrew Terry was named senior VP of merchandising for appliances. Hired in July 2015, Andrew joined Hhgregg from LG Electronics USA, and has overseen the growth of Hhgregg’s appliance business over the past several months.
• Mabelle Lim was named VP of merchandising for home décor
• Lim joined Hhgregg in July, 2016, and previously served as divisional merchandise manager at Pier 1 Imports
• Matt Phillips was named senior VP of merchandising for electronics. Phillips, who joined Hhgregg on July 25, 2016, most recently was divisional merchandising manager for Groupon. Prior to Groupon, he spent eight years at Best Buy.
“We have assembled a strong senior executive team that will build and maintain momentum to achieve our company's growth and profitability goals,” said Bob Riesbeck, president and CEO of Hhgregg, which operates 220 stores. “We are excited to have attracted talented leaders who will focus on revenue, margin and operational proficiencies. Of particular note are the new merchandising and marketing executives in roles of vital importance to our success.”
