Haverty sales up 8.2% in Q1
Atlanta Haverty Furniture Cos. said its same-store sales 10.1% in the first quarter, and total sales also gained for the retailer.
Total sales for the quarter ended March 31 rose 8.2% to $156 million, from $144.2 million in the prior-year period.
CEO Clarence H. Smith said the company is seeing improvements in all regions.
“We are pleased to record our second consecutive quarter of positive comparable-store sales,” Smith said. “The double-digit percent increase for the first quarter resulted from broad-based improvements across all of our regions relative to the very difficult sales environment last year.”
Haverty Furniture is a home-furnishings retailer with 119 showrooms in 17 states.
