Harris Teeter said to be outbid on Ukrop’s

Richmond, Va. A report in Supermarket News on Tuesday revealed that Harris Teeter may be out of the running to acquire Ukrop’s Supermarkets.

Harris Teeter was considered a leading candidate to take over Ukrop’s.

According to the report, Harris Teeter was outbid for Ukrop’s by an unnamed private-equity group, which is currently in exclusive negotiations to acquire the chain.

Both Ukrop’s and Harris Teeter have declined comment.
