H-E-B to donate $300K to Texas food banks
SAN ANTONIO H-E-B announced that it is making a major food donation, valued at $300,000, to food banks across the state through its Food Bank Assistance Program.
Each of the 15 food banks affiliated with Feeding America, the nation’s leading domestic hunger-relief organization will receive a delivery of 27,500 pounds of food, from H-E-B, the company reported. Each delivery will be made up of cans/packages of H-E-B Mac-n-Cheese, Hill Country Fare Green Beans and Hill Country Fare Whole Kernel Corn.
“We know that Texas is a state with big heart. We wanted to provide an easy way for Texans to get directly involved in supporting their local food bank and help shine a light on the struggle of hunger that affects so many in our state,” said Danny Flores, H-E-B public affairs manager.
