Gymboree's Crazy 8 targets broader market

BOSTON Gymboree Corp., according to reports, provided more information on its new concept store, Crazy 8, at the CIBC World Markets Consumer Growth Conference Wednesday. The Crazy 8 concept is designed to reach a broader market than the company's flagship Gymboree units, with clothing priced approximately 30% below pricing at its namesake stores. The store will also target boys and older children, with sizes going up to 14, as opposed to Gymboree, which goes up to size 12.

Beginning in August, the company will open between 10 to 20 Crazy 8 units this year. According to reports, they will be located in the Northern and Southern California, Houston and Northeast markets.
