Guitar Center names former Sports Authority CEO as chief executive

Los Angeles-- Guitar Center has named retailing veteran Darrell Webb as president and CEO, effective Nov. 17, 2014.



Webb previously served as chairman and CEO of Sports Authority from 2011 to 2013.



Prior to Sports Authority, Webb served as chairman, CEO, and president of Jo-Ann Fabric & Craft Stores, from 2006 to 2011.Prior to Jo-Ann, Webb spent more than 20 years with Fred Meyer and The Kroger Company.
