Guildford Town Centre reaches out to consumers with 3 Tier Logic

12/8/2014

Surrey, Canada - Guildford Town Centre, a shopping center in Surrey, British Columbia, Canada, is reaching out to customers across multiple channels and points of engagement. The center retained 3 Tier Logic, a wholly-owned subsidiary of 3TL Technologies, to use its Platform3 technologies to drive consumer foot traffic, gather in-depth data about shoppers, and increase social media engagement.

For example, Guildford Town Centre has launched 3 Tier Logic’s new Receipt Scanning technology, in combination with Platform3, during its 2014 holiday promotion. In the promotion, consumers earn rewards points for taking a photo of their retail store receipt and uploading it to the Guildford Town Centre Platform3 application.

In addition to earning points, participating consumers are automatically entered into a sweepstakes for a chance to win gift cards worth a total of $2,500. The combined technologies enable Guildford Town Centre to identify the store in which the purchase was made, the total amount spent, the social profile of each individual consumer submitting receipts, and their content sharing behaviors.

Guildford Town Centre has worked with 3 Tier Logic's consumer-to-consumer content marketing technology Platform3 since it was in beta. Platform3 motivates and incentivizes consumers to share relevant content about a shopping center such as its promotions, retailers, restaurants, and other associated lifestyle information, with their friends on their own personal social media channels.

Prior to the activation of the Receipt Scanning promotion, Guildford Town Centre worked with 3 Tier Logic to develop and activate two other GTC Rewards promotions during 2014. The first promotion was a check-in-to-win application integrated into the shopping center's on-site kiosks. The second was a user generated content promotion during the “Movember” mustache-growing for men’s health initiative for social sharing on Facebook and Twitter. Both applications integrated the Platform3 consumer-to-consumer content sharing and data mining functionality.

From Jan. 1-Nov. 30, 2014, Platform3 increased the total number of new users in the GTC Rewards program by more than 350%. Those individuals used Platform3 to share shopping center and shopper-lifestyle relevant content on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, 8,273 times, potentially reaching almost 2.2 million unique individuals.
