Guess taps licensee for new leadership

7/18/2012

Frank Rescigna is the new president of worldwide licensing at Guess? Inc.

In his new role Rescinga will report to Guess CEO and co-founder Paul Marciano. Rescinga previously served as president of Viva, a Guess eyewear licensee.

“We are very excited to welcome Frank to the Guess team. He brings a wealth of experience from strong global brands,” Marciano said. “Over the past several years, we have built a very strong management team around the world and we are continuing to enhance that with top talent from prominent companies. The experience and insight that Frank brings will be invaluable as we continue to grow our iconic brand."

Rescinga assumes responsibility for all domestic and international licensing for the global lifestyle brand with the iconic logo. Guess designs, markets, distributes and licenses contemporary apparel, denim, handbags, watches, footwear and other related consumer products.

His arrival follows the appointment earlier this year of Amber Tarshis as SVP marketing. She joined the company in February to lead all aspects of marketing, including retail marketing, consumer relationship management, special events and social media. Her background included marketing and brand management positions as Warner Bros. Entertainment, Puma and Victoria's Secret, where she ultimately served as SVP marketing. Her most recent position prior to Guess was chief marketing officer for The Hub TV Network, a joint venture between Discovery Communications and Hasbro Inc.

Both appointments come during a year in which Guess observes its 30th anniversary and looks to leverage the strength of its brand to expand in new global markets. Last year, the company added a total of 261 new stores and currently operates 503 stores in the United States and Canada and 264 stores in Europe, Asia and Latin America. The company's licensees and distributors operated an additional 828 stores outside of the United States and Canada.
