Gucci Group selects e-commerce platform solution

Woburn, Mass. Multi-brand luxury company Gucci Group has selected Demandware to power its new e-business initiative.

The Demandware eCommerce Platform will be used as the foundation upon which to build multiple branded direct-to-consumer e-commerce sites for Alexander McQueen, Balenciaga, Bottega Veneta, Sergio Rossi, Stella McCartney and Yves Saint Laurent in the United States and Europe.

The system is a central e-commerce platform for launching and managing multiple e-commerce sites, with a flexible and extensible development environment for creating customized user experiences unique to each brand. It also provides full in-house control over all aspects of the consumer shopping experience, including branding, merchandising promotions, catalog and pricing.

Support for multiple languages, currencies and payment types will also be utilized.
