DALLAS — Transplace, a leading provider of transportation management services and logistics technology, announced that Great Lakes Brewing Company (GLBC) has selected the third party logistics (3PL) provider to handle its North American transportation management activities. GLBC will leverage Transplace’s comprehensive logistics technology and services for improved transportation planning, execution and management of all outbound shipments from its central distribution center to its growing distributor network throughout the Great Lakes region and surrounding areas.

“Since our founding, Great Lakes Brewing Company has been committed to providing our customers with a high-quality product and service experience,” said Daniel Conway, president and co-founder of Great Lakes Brewing Company. “It was important for us to select a logistics service provider that understood and aligned with our company culture and values, and would work collaboratively with us to optimize our transportation operations and improve service levels in an environmentally respectful way.”

Transplace will leverage its technology to streamline the daily operations of GLBC’s freight flows in North America. The 3PL will procure and manage the beer company’s truckload contracts with the carrier community and ensure compliance with temperature requirements associated with beverage shipments.
