Goody's names new ceo

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. Goody’s Family Clothing has named Paul White as the company’s ceo and member of the board of directors. White assumed the post on March 5, and will oversee all strategic and operating aspects of the company.

Most recently, White held a variety of senior management positions with ShopKo of Green Bay, Wis., including general merchandise manager, chief merchandising officer, president, and interim ceo. Prior to ShopKo, White served as senior vp and general merchandise manager and senior vp of advertising and sales promotion at the Famous-Barr division of May Department Stores in St. Louis. He also held senior merchandising positions with the Lazarus division of Federated Department Stores in Cincinnati.

"I am very excited about the opportunities in Goody’s future," said White. "As a regional retailer, the company has had an intimate relationship with its customer base and is poised to reestablish that position."
