Gigwalk upgrades platform, enhances workforce
Gigwalk has made a major upgrade to its platform that involves new higher skilled, higher paid “Gigs” (jobs on the Gigwalk app) and free training programs based on worker certifications. The move makes Gigwalk the only mobile work marketplace that allows workers to advance their careers through special courses and certifications.
The company is announcing partnerships with two leading retail industry organizations on this initiative: World Alliance for Retail Excellence & Standards, the only trade association representing the retail service sector, and Retail Integrity, one of the fastest growing retail service companies in the nation.
The benefits now available to Gigwalkers on the platform include:
Access to courses through World Alliance for Retail Excellence & Standards: Courses include merchandising standards and retail visit excellence. When Gigwalkers complete and pass workforce training courses, it is listed on their profiles and they get access to a larger pool of high paid Gigs on the platform.
Access to higher skilled, higher paid Gigs through Retail Integrity: Retail Integrity’s clients include CPG manufacturers, restaurants, retailers, financial services, grocery and convenience stores, entertainment and wireless telecom companies. New Gigs offered by Retail Integrity will include jobs such as specialty retail audits and mystery shopping across United States Post Offices.
Enhanced worker profiles: Worker profiles display information about a worker’s completed courses, status of certifications, work preferences and performance metrics. The data enables Gigwalkers to discover growth opportunities through the app and provides companies who post Gigs access to the best workers.
"These enhancements present a giant leap forward for both workers and companies that need work done at retail," said Matt Crampton, founder and chief technology officer, Gigwalk. “Companies can now quickly find and hire the right person for their job without the long process of interviewing candidates and relying on references for past work performance.”
“We are really impressed with Gigwalk’s enhanced workforce. Gigwalk’s solutions use industry certification and observed work history to choose who is offered particular Gigs resulting in consistent, high-quality results,” added Mike Bynoe, CEO, Retail Integrity. “The high skill level and qualifications of the Gigwalk workforce coupled with the company’s technology mean they are capable of completing jobs much more efficiently than a traditional merchandising business model, which saves their customers time and money.”
Workers can sign up for the Gigwalk app free on their iPhone or Android devices. Retail workers who have already taken courses or have certifications can include them on their enhanced worker profile and access high skilled jobs upon signing up.
