Giant Opens High-Tech Supermarket
Carlisle, Pa., When the first-ever Giant Super Food Store opens the doors to its 91,000-sq.-ft. location in Camp Hill, Pa., on Oct. 12, it will showcase the latest in shopping technologies, such as EasyShop hand-held devices, EasyScan self-checkouts, EasyWeigh scales and even a WiFi coffee shop.
“We have outfitted the new Giant Super Food Store with solutions that provide convenience to customers’ current shopping routines,” said Nick Montepara, VP of retail operations. “Customers who might not be technically inclined will find the new offerings easy to use, making shopping faster, easier, and even more convenient than ever before. The bottom line is this technology will enhance our quality customer service.”
Giant Food Stores currently runs 101 stores as Giant Food Stores, 146 stores as Tops Markets and 21 stores as Martin’s Food Markets. A Giant spokesperson said the company views the new Giant Super Food Store as a test.
