Giant Food tests new multilingual services
LANDOVER, Md. Giant Food today announced new initiatives designed to help customers with limited English speaking skills.
The company is now offering Spanish language prescription labels and information at all of its pharmacies. In addition, the company is also testing a new interpreter service at 20 Giant Pharmacies.
The service, being tested in conjuction with Language Line Services, provides customers with access to interpreters (via telephone conference) who speak more than 170 languages.
“Communicating through a professional interpreter is the surest way for limited English speaking patients to safely and accurately take their medications,” said Louis Provenzano, Language Line Services’ president and coo. “By eliminating language barriers within its pharmacies, Giant Food shows a genuine commitment to all of its customers, regardless of language.”
