Giant Eagle to Unveil New Store Design
Pittsburgh A report in the Pittsburgh Tribune said that Giant Eagle Inc. is introducing its newest store design to Western Pennsylvania shoppers on Friday with the opening of an 87,500-sq.-ft. supermarket.
The new store will be about 13,000 sq. ft. larger than the typical Giant Eagle, and will emphasize freshness and an open design.
"It has a sort of European market flair to it, with a lot of wood, earth tones, wooden carts and tremendous openness," Giant Eagle spokesman Dick Roberts told the Tribune.
There will be expanded produce, bakery and prepared foods areas, and a sushi bar, international grocery aisle and organic foods department.
