Genesco Warns of Same-Store Sales Declines

Nashville, Tenn. Shoe and hat seller Genesco Inc. said Tuesday that 4Q same-store sales are likely to come in at the lower end of its prior forecast for a decline of 1% to 4%.

For the quarter to date ended Jan. 10, same-store sales were off 4%, with Underground Station Group results down 12% and Johnston & Murphy Group reporting a 16% decline.

The company expects to report its quarterly results and those for fiscal 2009 on March 5.
