Genesco 2Q Loss More Than Doubles

Nashville, Tenn. Genesco Inc. said Thursday its second-quarter loss more than doubled as results were hurt by a $6.4 million tax payment for the appreciation of stock it got in a lawsuit with The Finish Line Inc.

The company lost $10.3 million in the three-month period ended Aug. 2., compared with a loss of $4.2 million in the year-ago period.

Revenue rose 7.7% to $353.1 million from $328 million in the year-ago period.

Same-store sales rose 4%in the quarter.
