Gateway ceo to leave in January

IRVINE, Calif. Ed Coleman is leaving Gateway, Acer, Gateway's new owners announced today.

Coleman, who joined Gateway as ceo in September 2006 and lead the company throughout its merger with Acer, will leave the company at the end of January 2008.

Rudi Schmidleithner, who has been heading the Acer Pan America Organization since 2004, will also assume responsibility for Gateway. He will head both companies going forward, and be responsible for completing the post merger integration program within the Acer Group.
