Gap Inc. cfo resigns, Simmons named evp

SAN FRANCISCO Gap Inc. announced today that Sabrina Simmons, currently senior vp of corporate finance and a six-year Gap Inc. finance veteran, is being promoted to the newly-created position of evp of Gap Inc. finance. She will also serve as acting cfo, following the departure of current cfo Byron Pollitt, who has decided to leave the company to pursue an opportunity in another industry, effective Sept. 14.

Simmons joined Gap Inc. in 2001 as vp and treasurer. She currently has responsibility for all corporate finance functionsincluding controllership, corporate financial planning and analysis,investor relations, treasury, tax, corporate shared service center, and risk management. In her expanded role as evp, she will serve on the company's executive leadership team and will oversee all business-related financial matters.
