Gap greets season with sales growth

1/9/2015

San Francisco – Gap Inc. should be happy to greet this year’s holiday season, based on its performance in the just-concluded 2014 holiday season. Net sales for the November and December 2014 holiday shopping season were up 4% and same-store sales were up 3%, compared with the previous year.

Net sales for December 2014 increased 2% to $2.1 billion from $2.05 billion, driven by strong performance at Old Navy. Looking at same-store sales by Gap’s global brand for December 2014, Gap same-store sales declined 5%, Banana Republic same-store sales were flat and same-store sales at Old Navy rose 8%.
