Gap celebrates 40th anniversary
SAN FRANCISCO Gap is celebrating its 40th anniversary this week by ringing the NYSE Closing Bell and holding acoustic music performances at its more than 700 stores nationwide for employees and customers.
On Aug. 21, Gap brand North America president Marka Hansen, along with board member Bob Fisher and fellow founding family members John Fisher and Bill Fisher will ring The Closing Bell remotely from the company's headquarters in San Francisco. In addition, for the first time in New York Stock Exchange history, the trading floor community will dress down for business and wear Gap's new 1969 Premium Jeans.
On Aug. 20, customers will be treated to performances by local musicians and special deals.
