Gander Mountain to get reprieve?

Bankrupt sporting goods retailer Gander Mountain may live to see another day.



Sportsman’s Warehouse Holdings Inc. is planning to bid for as many as 80% of Gander Mountain’s stores, Bloomberg reported. Gander Mountain filed for bankruptcy on March 10.



Sportsman’s Warehouse, based in Midvale, Utah, operates about 80 stores, mostly in the West, with some locations in the mid-Atlantic, according to the report. Gander Mountain, based In St. Paul, Minnesota, operates some 160 stores. Most of its locations are in the East.



Gordon Brothers and Hilco Merchant Resources agreed to act as opening bidders in a late-April auction “to facilitate a seamless sale of the company as a going concern,” Gander Mountain stated.
