GameStop’s Quarterly Net Profits Jump

Grapevine, Texas, GameStop Corp. posted strong quarterly profit as revenues climbed 59%. The increase, according to the company, was fueled by sales of new games including Halo 3 and Madden NFL ’08.

Third-quarter income was $52 million, up from $13.6 million a year ago. Revenue also rose to $1.61 billion from $1.01 billion.
