A new app from Seattle-based Shoppost bills itself as the first in-stream e-commerce app that lets online retailers sell via Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Google+.

Shoppost is a free app that gathers product information and pulls it into an interactive post that can be shared via social channels in a few clicks. The app is available for free to sellers who use BigCommerce and Shopify with additional e-commerce platform support rolling out in the near future, according to the company.

“Social networking has fundamentally changed the way we communicate and interact personally and professionally. It’s also opening up new doors for online retailers, making it easier to sell directly to a target audience on the social sites we know they are spending time on,” said David Robb, CEO of Shoppost. “Shoppost was designed with this modern buyer in mind. Drawing on our combined knowledge of the e-commerce and social network space, we’ve created a unique solution that makes it easier for consumers to discover new products, and in turn, for online retailers to quickly and easily discover new revenue opportunities.”

For established online retailers, Shoppost said its app pulls all relevant product information, including images and videos, into a sharable post. Once posted, fans and followers can browse product details and extend reach by sharing the post on their social networks – all without leaving the social environment. When buyers are ready to checkout, they’ll be taken back to the sellers’ original e-commerce site for a secure transaction, according to the company.
