Fresh Market will open its second location in South Carolina’s capital region in the growing upscale suburb of Lexington.
Hobby Lobby and Ulta Beauty have also signed leases at the 143,850-sq.-ft. center going up at Lexington Marketplace on U.S. Highway 378, west of the state capital of Columbia. The center’s developer is Albany, New York-based Columbia Development, which recently announced plans for an expansive
mixed-use project in North Carolina.
“This will be the first Fresh Market in Lexington and only its second location in the Columbia region. Lexington is one of Columbia’s most desirable communities; its population has doubled since 2000,” said of Darrell Palasciano of The Shopping Center Group, leasing agent for the project.
The center is 70% leased, according to Palasciano. Space remains available for additional retailers, restaurants, and a junior anchor tenant.
