Fresh & Easy touts store savings

11/2/2007

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. Fresh & Easy today touted the low prices to be found at its Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Markets, scheduled to open in less than a week.

According to Fresh & Easy, it has taken several steps to increase sales and decrease costs including, carrying high quality private label and national brands, using display ready packaging to stock shelves, eliminating the need to put products on the shelves one at a time, delivering fresh products to the store in reusable containers and reducing energy output through environmental efforts such as using LED lighting.

Items available at Fresh & Easy include private label prepared foods, such as 17 oz. serving of macaroni and cheese for $2.99 and a 10 oz. chicken teriyaki bowl for $1.99, as well as private label groceries, such as a half gallon of reduced fat milk for $1.98 and 12 oz. organic coffee for $4.99

"By keeping things simple, we're able to offer honest, everyday low prices on all our products," said ceo Tim Mason. "We don't need to offer product coupons or loyalty cards."

Fresh & Easy is scheduled to open six stores on Nov. 8 in Southern California. The company also plans to open in Phoenix and Las Vegas before the end of the year.
