Fox News pundit drives away top retailer sponsorship

8/18/2009

Fox News pundit Glenn Beck appears to be causing some trouble for the conservative-leaning network, as more companies, including three large retailers, said they would pull their ads from his show.

According to Politico.com, a Web site that tracks political news and trends, Wal-Mart, CVS and Best Buy are among a list of 20 companies that ColorOfChange, an African-American online political organization, said would stop advertising on Glenn Beck's show after he called President Obama a racist.

ColorOfChange is not satisfied with just those 20 companies pulling their advertising, on a special section of its Web site, the organization is asking people to petition companies to remove their ads from the show.

Though Fox may have lost advertisers for Glenn Beck, according to reports, those companies that initially pulled their ads have taken new spots on other shows.
