Founder of Nordstrom.com to chair wedding shopping site Lover.ly
Lover.ly, a wedding inspiration and shopping site, has appointed founder of Nordstrom.com Bob Schwartz as the company’s first chairman.
As chairman, Schwartz will work closely with founder and CEO Kellee Khalil and the Lover.ly executive team to help shape the company’s long-term strategic growth, business and partnership development, capital strategy and build out Lover.ly’s brand and product pipelines.
“As a well-known leader in the worlds of technology and ecommerce, Bob brings to Lover.ly strategic direction, critical counsel, and business development opportunities at a time ripe for scale and growth,” said Khalil. “His wealth of experience will greatly benefit Lover.ly as it introduces new and innovative media and commerce models in our quest to serve brides with beautiful wedding ideas, people to hire, and things to buy.”
Schwartz was most recently president of Magento. Today, the platform is used by more than 30% of all e-commerce sites.
“Key to our success at Magento was building an energetic brand and flexible technology focused on enabling customer and partner success,” said Schwartz. “Similarly, Kellee and her team have seen success building a product that enables brides - in the moment when they are looking for inspiration and need guidance — to make the best brand and vendor choices for their wedding. With its data-centric technology platform and engaging brand, Lover.ly is tapping into what I see as keys to success in the future of digital commerce and media.”
Schwartz is currently vice chairman of OneHope, creators of the social impact product platform, and sits on the board of Good360, a nonprofit led by Carly Fiorina that connects brands and products with those in need.
