Former Walmart exec, Sephora merchant are top moms
Former Walmart apparel merchant Dottie Mattison and Sephora head merchant Margarita Arriagada will be among those honored next week at the 35th annual Outstanding Mother Awards.
Mattison, who currently serves as a senior managing director at investment firm Guggenheim Partners, and Arriagada and actress Debra Messing and media mogul Arianna Huffington will be honored on May 9 at New York’s Pierre Hotel. The top moms event is designed to recognize women who balance successful careers with the daily demands and rewards of motherhood. Proceeds from the event benefit Save the Children’s U.S. programs.
Mattisson left Walmart in 2010 after the retailer shifted its apparel strategy and decided to close a New York office that she had opened in her role as SVP of Walmart’s apparel global merchandising center. Prior to her apparel responsibilities, Mattison had served as a top merchant at Walmart.com and Gap, Inc.
Arriagada serves as SVP of merchandising at Sephora, the beauty retailer with 1,300 stores owned by the luxury goods company Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessy.
