Former Walmart exec to lead SpartanNash supply chain

A grocery distributor and retailer is expanding its supply chain management team.



SpartanNash named Tom Lee as senior VP, supply chain. In his new role, he will be responsible for overseeing SpartanNash’s supply chain, logistics, transportation and inventory management departments.



Specifically, he will be tasked with developing and implementing strategies for supply chain management. This includes enhancing and expanding the company’s network to support customers’ growth initiatives, while improving efficiency and reducing cost.



He will report to Dave Staples, president and COO.



From 2015-2017, Lee served as VP, merchandising operations, U.S. e-commerce for Walmart. In the role, he built out supply chain and merchandising operational functions for the global e-commerce division, and managed the planning and replenishment for both owned and drop-ship vendors with more than 10,000 suppliers and 26 million unique SKUs across a $1 billion inventory.



Prior to Walmart, Lee served as VP, supply chain innovations, global e-commerce for Walmart. He has also held supply chain leadership positions for Henry Schein and Office Depot and has been a senior-level consultant for both Ernst & Young and KPMG.
